メジャーの世界には弾丸のような物凄い送球をしさらに豪快にホームランを放つ怪物のような内野手がたくさんいるがオリオールズに所属するメジャー2年目の選手ガナー・ヘンダーソンも、そんな怪物選手たちにも負けない間違いなくスーパースターになる逸材と言っても過言ではない選手だ。
メジャーデビュー前にはアメリカの野球専門雑誌ベースボールアメリカの有望株ランキングで全体1位にもなったメジャー球界全体が注目する文句なしのスーパールーキー。
ヘンダーソンはまだまだ若い22歳の選手だが守備でもバッティングでも多くのファンを魅了し間違いなく今後のメジャー球界を背負っていく男の一人。
超有望株と言われた前評判どおり今シーズンも期待以上の結果を残している。
オリオールズには藤浪晋太郎が移籍したこともあり日本でもオリオールズの試合を目にする機会が増えていると思うがその時には是非、豪快なバッティングと強肩の硬い守備で活躍するスーパールーキー、ガナーヘンダーソンにも注目して頂きたい。
